Day 22 Banish that Hangover
Over indulged at the Christmas party? Want to lounge in bed, scoff loads of carb and sugar laden goodies? Stay away from them and get out of bed! Some tips to help you get through the day:
Get re-hydrated. Ideally you need more than just water. Unsweetened coconut water, a sports drink or a rehydration drink will help restore your hydration levels. You can make your own rehydration drink by dissolving a tablespoon of sugar and a teaspoon of salt in a pint of water and sip throughout the morning.
Get outside in the fresh air - go for a walk or a jog for 20 minutes
Sugary drinks and foods will only add to your already unbalanced blood sugar levels. Instead satisfy your sugar fix by choosing fresh fruit for its vitamin and water content or blend yourself a fruit and yogurt smoothie.
If you wake up feeling a bit sick, make ginger your new BFF. A small dose of ginger also stimulates a stalled, post-drink digestive system, helping to ease constipation, gas, bloating, indigestion, and even vomiting.
Feeling shaky and weak? Have a banana for it’s high levels of potassium, which you lose through toilet trips when you’re drinking alcohol
Ditch the bacon butty and donuts - opt for some eggs, which just destroy toxins! They’re also high in Vit B which is found to reduce hangover symptoms.
Have some Milk Thistle (can buy at the chemists or health food store) before you eat and drink and then in the morning. This flower helps the liver.
Do a 10 minute HiiT workout. I guarantee you’ll feel more energised afterwards.
