Can you touch your toes? Do you need a bit of a stretch when you get out of bed? Do you get random twinges from doing regular everyday stuff? Do you struggle to get into a low squat like you used to? Have you got neck tension from so much desk-working? As we age, and particularly in those menopausal years, many women start to experience muscle and joint aches and stiffness. This can be down to the changes in hormones, stress, dehydration, weight gain or even a poor posture. And, quite honestly you don’t want that stiffness or pain and you most likely don’t want the likes of osteoporosis, so working on mobilising your body daily is going to be a great PREVENTATIVE measure helping you perform daily activities or exercises with ease. Equally if you already have those aches then you need to get moving your body! This week we’ll look at some of the simple moves that you can add to your day – honestly they don’t take any time at all and most of them you can do just sitting at your desk or while you wait for the kettle to boil! Let’s all be spritely in our 60s, 70s and beyond!!
